Our Adoption Process
Thank you for your interest in giving a cat a loving home!
They are available to meet at:
Application Process
- Once your application is submitted, a volunteer will contact you within 24–48 hours, depending on availability.
- We are an all-volunteer organization, so response times may vary slightly.
- During the approval process, we will:
- Check personal references
- Review veterinary records for any current pets
- Confirm landlord pet policies (if applicable)
- Conduct a brief phone (or in person) interview to complete the process (required)
- The total approval process typically takes 2 – 3 days to complete.
Please be patient — our goal is a thoughtful, permanent placement for our cats and kittens.
Eligibility
We accept applications from individuals:
- 18 years of age or older
- Able to provide a safe, stable, and nurturing home environment
- Willing to make a lifelong commitment to their pet
Cats can live 15–20 years or more. Please consider this responsibility seriously before applying.
We reserve the right to decline any application at our discretion and without explanation.
Special Adoption Policy for Kittens
To ensure healthy development:
- We do not adopt out single kittens under 4 months old unless there is already another cat in the home.
- Kittens learn essential behaviors from other felines, and early socialization reduces the risk of future behavioral issues.
Health & Veterinary Care
All cats and kittens in our care receive:
- Testing for FeLV, FIV, and Heartworm
- Age-appropriate FVRCP and Rabies vaccines
- Flea prevention and deworming as needed
- Spay/neuter surgery
- Microchipping
Bringing Your New Cat Home
- A covered pet carrier is required when picking up your new feline friend.
- Every adoption includes 30 days of free support from Petcademy.org, which features:
- Unlimited texting with trainers and behaviorists (response within 24 hours)
- Online materials to help you and your pet adjust
- Behavioral and training guidance for a smooth transition
